So, who is this contemporary designer with a flair for the unusual and natural light?
John Rocha was born in Hong Kong and moved to London in the seventies. When he visited Ireland he loved it so much that he moved there in the eighties with his wife Odette. John was always looking for new ways to appeal to the modern day man and woman, experimenting with different techniques in the fabric world.
One of his favorite ways of expression was painting silk by hand, working with knitwear that was hand-crafted and eventually became part of his special collection series.
!994 became the year that John Rocha received British Designer of the Year Award and since then has gained notoriety recognition in the international arena.
John Rocha at Waterford Crystal came into the spotlight with a crystal collection of his own. This was to be a medium that many people would enjoy for years to come. One of John Rocha's first projects was to design Morrison's Hotel in Dublin, Ireland, which opened in the late nineties and has been frequented by nobles and royalty.
Following sucessful recognition, John was invited to design many more prestigeous establishments. John has worked on projects from Penthouses in Dublin to exclusive luxury private condos across Europe. In 2004, John introduced The Black Cut line of giftware to his collections, which consists of opulent and clear stems.
Also in 2004, new jewelry designs were introduced and very successful, simply known as the JRJ series
